Both of my great grandmothers were artists and writers, and I grew up surrounded by creative minds and hands. My father, a creative entrepreneur, became an early example for me of how artistic passion could also be a way of life. I worked alongside him on and off growing up, quietly absorbing the value of making and building things from imagination. Still, it wasn’t until my early twenties that I began to take art seriously. One day, I bought a pile of art supplies—and I’ve never looked back. For me, painting is a form of catharsis. I’m a deeply visual person. I often have vivid dreams or flashes of imagery throughout the day that feel urgent—like they’re meant to be translated into paint. Creating art has always felt therapeutic, a form of expression that allows me to process, release, and reconnect with myself and the world around me.
I had the privilege of commissioning Malee to create two very personal paintings for me more than ten years ago, and they remain incredibly meaningful to me to this day.
One was a beautiful painting of the Buddha that I wanted to use as a focal point for meditation. Malee created something that felt peaceful, soulful, and deeply calming—exactly the energy I had hoped the piece would hold.
The second painting was even more personal. I shared with Malee a vision I had experienced of myself in ancient Egypt, something that carried a great deal of meaning for me. She was able to take what I described and bring it to life on canvas in such a beautiful and intuitive way. It felt as though she understood not only what I had seen, but the emotion and significance behind it.
Malee is a truly gifted artist. There is a depth and sensitivity to her work that goes beyond simply creating something beautiful. She has a wonderful ability to listen, connect with the essence of what you are envisioning, and translate it into art that feels deeply personal.
More than a decade later, I still treasure the paintings she created for me. I would wholeheartedly recommend Malee to anyone looking for a meaningful, one-of-a-kind piece of art created with talent, heart, and soul.
